Theatre for kids, by kids!
Founded in 1951, Davenport Junior Theatre is the second oldest children's theatre in America. Click here to learn more about our history.
We offer a huge variety of programming opportunities for children ages 3-18. Our classes cover all aspects of the theatre, and are taught by professional theatre artists. Our newly-redesigned School of Dance features classes in various genres. In addition to regular classes, we also offer an array of week-long spring and summer camps and a workshop series. The other main element of our programming consists of our public performances. The Mainstage Acting Company performs four to five public shows annually. And, in keeping with our heritage, Junior Theatre can still be found touring the parks and community in the month of July with our Summer Repertory Program.
